Recently Honor launched its first smartwatch called Honor Watch Magic after the launch of Huawei’s Watch GT. The Watch Magic is very similar to its parent company’s Watch GT but costs less. The size of this smartwatch is bit smaller than Watch GT which makes it more slim and compact. The hardware and OS are similar. Also the battery is very less as compared to Watch GT but Honor promises a 7 days standby which sounds pretty cool.

Design & Display
Honor Watch Magic has a round dial design and is available in two variants, a Black Lava variant with silicon straps which gives a sporty look and a Moonlight Silver variant with Italian leather straps for more classy look. It has dimensions of 42.8 x 42.8 x 9.8mm and weighs only 32.5 gms. The 1.2 inch AMOLED color display is housed in a 316L cold forged Stainless Steel case.
The frame measures 9.8mm in thickness and has a double-crown design and a heart rate sensor at back. The QuickFit 22mm bands are easily swappable. The display has a 390 x 390 pixel resolution with a pixel density of 326ppi. This smartwatch is 5ATM waterproof which means you can take it up to 50m underwater and easily swim with it.
Hardware & Performance
The Honor Watch Magic uses ARM M4 chipset paired with 16MB of RAM and 128MB of internal storage. It uses dual-chip technology a high performance chip and an energy efficient chip.
This smartwatch runs on Honor’s own Lite OS which provides a longer battery life.
This smartwatch is equipped with a triple frequency GNSS receiver (GPS, Galileo/Compass, GLONASS) which enables it to track independently without smartphone. It has Bluetooth 4.2 for connectivity.
It also has multifunctional NFC which supports AliPay, Huawei Pay and bus cards with NFC payments. It monitors users sleep in eight different patterns and identifies six types of sleep disorders with TruSleep 2.0. It also has 200 types of sleep suggestions.
It uses Huawei’s TruSeen 3.0 technology for continuous heart rate monitoring and with Huawei’s TruRelax technology it provides 24-hours blood pressure monitoring which is also supported by Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It also suggests breathing exercises for keeping you calm with real-time feedback. It is one of the best smartwatches for running.
The Watch Magic has an altimeter, a barometer and a compass for mountain climbing. It can track a lot of activities including swimming, mountaineering, stationary cycling, cycling, walking, running, treadmill running and more. It also provides coaching in introductory to advanced running courses to assist you in real time while also providing guidance training and giving time-movement effect feedback.
The Watch Magic can be used with smartphones having Android 4.4 and above and also with iPhones from version 9.0 and above.
Honor Watch Magic packs a 178mAh battery which can last up to a week. But it will last for this long only if GPS is turned-off and also if the usage is moderate. With GPS turned-on it lasts up to 10 hours.
